Zcash surged to $1,388 Thursday, posting a 10.9% daily gain and a 168% increase over 30 days, with a market capitalization of $22.9 billion, making it the ninth-largest cryptocurrency. ZEC holders overwhelmingly approved keeping Bitcoin-style halvings in the NU7 upgrade vote, with a record 66% turnout and 98.9% support, representing 2.4 million tokens cast. The privacy coin has tripled since the Ironwood upgrade in July and is up more than 2,500% over the past year, fueled by Grayscale’s ETF launch in August. The other ballot outcomes include faster 25-second blocks and the network sustainability mechanism set for February 2031, backed by 96.6% of voters.
