Zakura Common Targets Zcash’s Wallet-Side Privacy Bottleneck

Zakura released Zakura Common on August 31, an open-source cryptography toolkit that reduces shielded Zcash transaction creation from over three seconds to under 200 milliseconds in some cases. Mobile proof generation is more than 14 times faster and desktop transaction creation is more than five times faster. The protocol also reports Sinsemilla hashing improvements exceeding 21 times, trial decryption 1.5 times faster, and zk-SNARK verification between four and eight times faster. ZEC price rose approximately 5% to near $839 following the announcement amid a broader cryptocurrency market rally.
