Ripple CTO Emeritus Slams Bitcoin’s BIP-110 Legacy Chain Fix: ‘Listen to Yourself’

Ripple CTO emeritus David Schwartz criticized BIP-110 supporters on X, accusing them of switching from governance participation to attacking Bitcoin when they refused to accept their defeat. BIP-110, a proposed Bitcoin soft fork that would have restricted block space usage for non-financial data, failed after producing only two blocks in eight hours in August. Bitcoin Knots is now preparing a new competing chain abandoning the SHA-256d algorithm for BLAKE2b, scheduled for September 1, without confirmed support from major exchanges, wallets, or Lightning implementations.
