Samsung Electronics has announced a share buyback program estimated between 90 and 110 trillion South Korean won. This announcement comes just days after its competitor SK Hynix unveiled a 40 trillion won program, equivalent to 28.7 billion dollars. Samsung’s plan includes 30 trillion won in cash dividends for the third quarter, along with share buybacks and cancellations. This decision follows Samsung’s excellent second-quarter earnings and CFO Park Sooncheol’s promise to find the optimal balance between maximizing shareholder value and reinvestment for future growth.
