Wall Street just ran its first live trades on blockchain, and the biggest names showed up

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation executed its first live production blockchain trades on July 15, 2026, marking the transition of tokenization from pilot project to operational reality. Over two dozen major institutions, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and Vanguard, participated in transactions involving tokenized equities, ETFs and US Treasurys. DTCC, which safeguards over $114 trillion in securities, used the Hyperledger Besu and Canton Network blockchain networks to execute these real trades. The integration of Chainlink technology into DTCC’s tokenized collateral platform and the endorsement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act by BlackRock and Fidelity in July 2026 signal a significant shift toward institutional blockchain adoption.
