Visa Survey Finds US Stablecoin Interest Jumps to 56% With Bank-Style Safeguards

More than half of Americans (56%) would use stablecoins if they came with bank-level fraud protection and deposit insurance, up from 36% without those safeguards, according to a Visa study conducted by Morning Consult among 2,192 U.S. adults. The same scenario reaches 74% in Latin America, and trust in traditional financial service providers remains high at 61% for banks and 60% for global payment networks. Adoption faces a significant barrier: 56% of respondents have never heard of stablecoins, and many confuse them with volatile cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Crypto-linked card payments reached $18 billion in 2025, while dollar stablecoin market capitalization stands at approximately $312 billion, with USDT at $184 billion and USDC at $76 billion.
