Verizon Communications recorded its best third-quarter performance in years on a key subscriber metric. The company added 406,000 net postpaid phone subscribers during the latest quarter. Analysts tracked by FactSet had projected an average of 195,000, less than half of the reported result. The performance impressed Wall Street and pushed Verizon’s stock higher.
