VARA and Securitize sign MoU to boost tokenization innovation in Dubai

Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and Securitize Corp. signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 2 to collaborate on tokenization regulation and innovation in the emirate. Securitize, which manages over $4 billion in tokenized assets and counts BlackRock and Morgan Stanley among its institutional backers, went public on the NYSE under the ticker SECZ. The agreement aims to establish clear regulatory frameworks for issuing and distributing tokenized assets, as VARA had already licensed approximately 50 virtual asset service providers by mid-2026. The collaboration will determine how tokenized financial products should be regulated in the region, although the MoU remains non-binding and its concrete impact remains to be seen.
