Vantage Data Centers seeks $2B in loans from Pimco, PGIM as AI infrastructure financing boom accelerates

Share

Vantage Data Centers is in discussions with Pimco and PGIM to secure approximately $2 billion in new loans to fund its expansion in data center infrastructure. The operator, backed by DigitalBridge and operating 17 campuses with over 4 gigawatts of IT load capacity across North America, has already raised billions over the past year, including a $5 billion green loan in June 2025 and a $2.4 billion refinancing in February 2026. Pimco, which participated in a $3 billion revolving credit facility in 2024, would deepen its existing relationship with Vantage, while PGIM, the asset management arm of Prudential Financial, would bring additional major financial support. This deal reflects the growing interest of private credit lenders in data centers, viewed as physical assets with predictable revenue streams and attractive risk profiles. Demand for AI and cloud services continues to drive an explosion in financing needs for this infrastructure.
