The US trade deficit narrowed to $73.3 billion in June, down from a revised $77.6 billion in May, according to data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and the US Census Bureau. Imports totaled $388.0 billion while exports came in at $314.7 billion, representing a month-over-month improvement of roughly $4.3 billion. The goods-only deficit stood at $101.5 billion, with services exports in finance, tech, consulting, and intellectual property licensing offsetting part of that gap. This headline figure of $73.3 billion remains near the upper end of the $50 billion to $80 billion range observed throughout 2026.
