The U.S. government moved a small amount of Bitcoin seized from Alameda Research accounts on Binance.US, a transaction flagged by blockchain analytics firm Arkham on Aug. 26. These funds originated from seizures made on Alameda accounts approximately three years ago. Arkham did not specify whether this transfer constituted a sale nor the destination of the moved Bitcoin. The U.S. government has recently multiplied movements of assets linked to FTX and Alameda seizures, including over $288 million of Bitcoin and Ether moved to Coinbase Prime in July. Alameda holdings are part of a broader seizure exceeding $700 million related to FTX’s collapse, including over $102 million in Bitcoin. Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison and ordered to forfeit over $11 billion, with the DOJ stating that recovered funds would be used to compensate victims.
