UPS beats earnings expectations, raises full-year guidance

UPS reported second-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street expectations, with adjusted EPS of $1.76 versus $1.66 expected and revenue of $22.8 billion versus $21.81 billion expected. Net income fell sharply to $604 million from $1.28 billion a year ago. The company raised its full-year guidance, now expecting consolidated revenue of $91.2 billion and adjusted diluted EPS of approximately $7.22. UPS also said it has achieved roughly $1.2 billion of program benefits from its network reconfiguration, targeting $3 billion by year-end.
