The UK sanctioned crypto payment processors Cryptomus and Heleket and Kyrgyzstani exchange TokenSpot on October 8, after blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis linked these services to illicit financial flows tied to Russia’s sanctions evasion. Cryptomus and Heleket, operated by Xeltox Enterprises Ltd., received funds from more than 15,000 distinct illicit counterparties. Canada had previously imposed a CAD 177 million penalty on Cryptomus in October 2025 for anti-money laundering violations. TokenSpot was traced to an HTX deposit address that received over $308 million.
