President Donald Trump met Wednesday at the White House with executives from Coinbase, Ripple, Gemini and other major crypto companies to discuss the United States’ position in the digital asset industry. The CLARITY Act, aimed at clarifying cryptocurrency regulation, took center stage during the discussions; Trump called on Congress to pass a « fair version » of the bill, which passed the House of Representatives in July 2025 but remains stalled in the Senate. The president also stated that the United States had considered purchasing « sizable » amounts of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, while the CFTC chair would work to bring Hyperliquid into the US market. On the markets, Bitcoin gained 7% to reach $70,000, Ethereum surged nearly 18% to $2,327 and the HYPE token rose over 20% to $71, but political hurdles remain in the Senate where Senator Ruben Gallego warned against a rushed vote.
