Denis Rojčyk, Trezor’s software product lead, argues that AI agents can prepare cryptocurrency transactions but should never finalize them without human approval. In his view, every operation must be validated with a signature on a hardware wallet held by the user. Trezor already follows this principle: its devices offer no autonomous signing capabilities for AI agents and require manual confirmation for every transaction. MetaMask takes a different approach with Agent Wallet, which allows AI agents to operate within limits set in advance by the user without hardware confirmation for each transaction. Rojčyk defended this position during a TOKEN2049 panel held on October 7-8, 2026, whose recording was released on October 26, 2026.
