Share

TRACFIN, France’s financial intelligence unit combating money laundering and terrorist financing, has suffered a data breach following the compromise of a subcontractor. The personal and professional contact details of 136 filers, including names, job titles, email addresses, and phone numbers, along with 213 technical support requests, were exfiltrated between late June and mid-July 2026. Crypto asset service providers, which had submitted 4,850 suspicious transaction reports in 2025, are among the professions subject to TRACFIN reporting obligations. According to available information, no data from the suspicious transaction reports themselves was exposed. The administration has terminated its relationship with the compromised vendor while investigations continue.
