Chad Barraford, technical co-founder of the THORChain network, accused stablecoin issuer Tether of blacklisting the network’s USDT vault addresses, freezing approximately $1.45 million in USDT across four wallets. The funds were unfrozen approximately two hours later without explanation from Tether. Barraford stated that THORChain received no prior communication from Tether and was actively seeking to establish contact for clarification. Tether did not comment on the incident. This case follows a pattern of legal disputes involving Tether, including a $2.76 million lawsuit from Conduit Technology and a complaint by two Thai nationals regarding the freezing of $42.4 million in USDT.
