According to the latest report by consulting firm Henley & Partners published in September, 742 million people hold cryptocurrencies worldwide, including 135,694 millionaires (with at least $1 million in crypto assets) and 290 fortunes exceeding $100 million, of which 23 are billionaires. Among these large fortunes, 92,272 millionaires hold only Bitcoin, and 151 individuals own more than $100 million solely in BTC, representing just over 52% of holders in this bracket. The report also notes that Bitcoin’s most recent bear market was less severe than previous ones, with a drawdown of approximately 50%, compared to over 75% in earlier downturns. However, the authors emphasize the approximate nature of these estimates, which are based on on-chain analysis and extrapolation from Bitcoin’s share of global market capitalization.
