Raymond Christian Garcia and Isiah Angelo Garcia, brothers from Waller, Texas, were sentenced to 180 and 186 months in prison, respectively. On September 19, 2025, they held a family hostage at gunpoint in their Minnesota home for more than nine hours to gain access to their cryptocurrency. After an initial attempt yielded less cryptocurrency than expected, the brothers forced the victim to drive them to a cabin, where they obtained more than $8 million from additional devices. They were arrested near Houston after the victim’s son called 911, pleaded guilty in June 2026 and were sentenced by US District Judge Donovan W. Frank.
