Tether has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan’s central bank and the Alatau City Authority to explore a tenge-backed stablecoin pilot. The three parties will study stablecoin models used in other countries, assess potential use cases, and prepare a pilot proposal. The project also includes workshops on stablecoins, reserve management, and putting conventional assets on blockchain for central bank and government employees. Tether’s Hadron platform would be used to tokenize real-world assets. No launch date or details about reserve assets have been announced at this stage.
