Tesla unveiled its redesigned Roadster equipped with SpaceX cold-gas thrusters during a demonstration in Texas, showcasing aerial maneuvers powered by compressed air bursts. Three versions will be offered: Performance ($50,000 deposit), Thrust ($250,000 deposit), and invitation-only Rocket. The company has lowered specifications compared to the 2017 model: only two seats instead of four and a range of over 300 miles versus the originally promised 620 miles. Production is now scheduled to begin in 2028, eight years later than initially projected. The FAA confirmed the vehicle does not meet its definition of an aircraft and therefore does not require airworthiness certification.
