Reports indicate he made over $100,000 from these bets based on advance knowledge of the president’s major speech content, including the State of the Union address. Kalshi’s surveillance team detected the trades, investigated them, and referred the matter to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Meanwhile, a federal judge temporarily blocked a Minnesota law that would have banned prediction markets in the state, giving a temporary victory to Kalshi, Polymarket, and the CFTC.
