A new Gallup poll found that only 33% of Americans approve of the Supreme Court’s performance, a record low and a 6-point drop from 39% in July 2025. Simultaneously, a record high of 61% of Americans disapprove of the court. Republicans’ approval rating fell sharply to 58% from 79% in September 2025, possibly due to rulings on tariffs and birthright citizenship unfavorable to the Trump administration. Democrats remain at 12% approval while independents stand at 35%. The poll surveyed 1,200 adults from July 1 through 19 with a margin of sampling error of 4 percentage points.
