Strategy has again suspended its bitcoin purchases after resuming buying just one week earlier, ending a ten-week pause. Instead of buying cryptocurrency, the company repurchased $176 million of its own shares and increased its digital credit securities repurchase program from $1 billion to $2 billion. Strategy still holds 845,050 bitcoins worth over $66 billion with $6.5 billion in dollar reserves. The company posted an $8.22 billion loss in its quarterly earnings in July, but CEO Phong Le reassured investors that the firm now has a « bullet-proof balance sheet ».
