State Street Corporation has signed an initial agreement to acquire Santander CACEIS Latam Securities Services, a joint venture managing approximately $470 billion in assets under custody and $225 billion in assets under administration. The deal covers operations across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, representing State Street’s biggest push into Latin American markets. The acquisition, announced on July 28, will not close until 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed, with Goldman Sachs and law firm Freshfields advising State Street on the transaction.
