StarkWare Quantum Bitcoin Transaction: First Quantum-Resistant BTC Transaction Hits Mainnet

StarkWare announced that researcher Avihu Levy successfully tested a quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on mainnet. The transaction spent a 10,000-satoshi output in block 964,199 without altering Bitcoin’s consensus rules. The block was mined by MARA Pool via its Slipstream service, as the nonstandard format prevented propagation through ordinary nodes. The computational cost is estimated between $150 and $200, with the process requiring several hours. This demonstration under the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin (QSB) scheme provides individual protection against quantum threats without waiting for a protocol-level network upgrade.
