Standard Asset Company has opened an office at Abu Dhabi Global Market to manage $1.5 billion in assets split between an institutional Bitcoin reserve and a real estate portfolio in the United Arab Emirates. Founded by Sakhib Waseem, Adam Ali and Mason Borda, the company has appointed Coinbase Asset Management, led by Anthony Bassili, as the exclusive manager of its Bitcoin holdings. Its founders say they have advised on more than $7 billion in transactions and facilitated more than $1 billion in digital asset issuance. At the Bitcoin price cited, the $1.5 billion portfolio would equal roughly 18,400 BTC if fully invested, although the precise allocation between the two assets has not been disclosed. The company’s advisory board includes Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Mick Mulvaney, Brett Tejpaul and Lord Iain McNicol.
