SpaceX has initiated discussions with Cognition AI, the company behind the Devin AI coding agent, regarding a potential acquisition. This announcement comes just days after SpaceX finalized its $60 billion acquisition of Anysphere, the company behind the AI-powered code editor Cursor, on August 14. Cognition AI, valued at $26 billion in early 2026, is currently negotiating a funding round that could push its valuation to $40 billion or more. Neither SpaceX, Cognition AI, nor Elon Musk has confirmed or denied these negotiations. If both acquisitions go through, Musk will have spent approximately $100 billion on AI development tools in a matter of weeks.
