Fractile, a London-based AI inference chip startup, is in advanced negotiations to raise approximately $600 million at a pre-money valuation of $6.5 billion. In May, the company closed a $220 million Series B round at a valuation of nearly $1 billion. Fractile has developed an SRAM-based hardware architecture called « memory-compute fusion » that the company claims can deliver inference speeds up to 25 times faster than current systems at roughly one-tenth the cost. Anthropic has held preliminary discussions to purchase these inference chips, with availability targeted for 2027. Founded in 2022, Fractile is positioning itself as an independent inference chip supplier against integrated players such as Nvidia, Google, and Amazon.
