Solana Foundation says the network is secure against quantum threats

The Solana Foundation stated on October 8, 2026, that its network remains secure against quantum threats. Technical VP Jacob Creech assured that no bunker mode and no mass wallet migrations are necessary. Security relies on the Ed25519 signature scheme whose keys are derived from a secret seed that is never exposed on-chain. An open-source proof-of-concept has been developed to verify seed ownership and migrate to a post-quantum scheme. Client teams Anza and Firedancer have selected Falcon as their quantum-resistant signature scheme, aligned with NIST standards.
