Anza organized a two-week bug bounty program for Solana’s Alpenglow consensus protocol, which closed on August 19 after receiving over 300 vulnerability submissions from security researchers worldwide. The reward pool reaches up to 50,000 SOL, distributed based on the severity of discovered bugs. Alpenglow represents a complete rethink of Solana’s consensus mechanism, designed to slash transaction finality from 12.8 seconds to 100-150 milliseconds. The bounty specifically targeted critical components within the Agave validator codebase, including votor, votor-messages, and bls-sigverify crates. The adjudication period extends through September 2, and SOL rewards will be locked for one year after the competition concludes.
