ARK Invest forecasts Bitcoin’s market cap will reach approximately $16 trillion by 2030, requiring 78.6% annual growth from the current level of roughly $1.264 trillion. Institutional investment and digital gold account for 92.8% of this modeled scenario, representing approximately $14.8 trillion of the $15.948 trillion total projected impact. US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted only about $173 million in July 2026, the weakest positive month of the year to that point, an alarming signal for the required institutional demand. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) sold 3,588 BTC for $216 million to fund preferred-stock distributions and replenish a dollar reserve, illustrating that financing needs can turn a treasury holder into a seller.
