Tech giants Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon are collectively spending over $200 billion a year on AI infrastructure. These investments, primarily dedicated to data centers, servers, and specialized chips, are directly eroding their profit margins in the short term. Analysts at Goldman Sachs and Bernstein project that return on investment periods should not materialize until 2027 or 2028.
