Sheffield United has secured a season-long loan deal for Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City. The former England international, who made three appearances for the Blades at the end of the 2025/26 season, will return to Bramall Lane for the 2026/27 campaign. Manchester City paid Leeds United an initial fee of 42 million pounds in July 2022 to acquire the midfielder. With two years remaining on his contract expiring in 2028, Phillips had struggled to break into City’s starting lineup due to fierce competition and nagging injury setbacks. Manager Chris Wilder, a consistent advocate for his return, hopes the 31-cap international will anchor Sheffield United’s midfield in the Championship.
