Sandisk plunges 7% after earnings as guidance falls short of investor expectations

Sandisk reported fourth quarter fiscal results that beat expectations with revenue of $8.97 billion, up 51% sequentially and 372% year-over-year, surpassing the $8.48 billion consensus estimate. Adjusted earnings per diluted share came in at $39.25 versus the $34.96 expected. Despite these strong results, shares fell 7% in extended trading as investors focused on fiscal first quarter 2027 revenue guidance between $10.3 billion and $10.8 billion, with a midpoint of $10.55 billion falling short of the approximately $10.8 billion expected. The data center segment generated $2.98 billion in revenue, up 103% sequentially, while gross margin expanded to 84.6%. The company also announced a $14 billion expansion of its share repurchase authorization.
