Samsung Electronics and its affiliates will invest a combined $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company launched by investment firm KKR and backed by Nvidia. Samsung Electronics will invest $500 million, with Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance covering the remainder. Helix, launched in June, focuses on hyperscale data centers, power generation and distribution as well as fiber-optic networks. The company is led by Adam Selipsky, former CEO of Amazon Web Services. The investment aims to accelerate the global rollout of AI data centers and deepen collaboration among participating companies.
