Samsung Group is investing one billion dollars in Helix Digital Infrastructure, an AI-focused data center company launched in June 2026 with over ten billion dollars in committed capital from investors including KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA, and Vistra. The investment is split evenly between Samsung Electronics, contributing five hundred million dollars, and five other affiliates including Samsung C&T and Samsung SDS. Helix is led by Adam Selipsky, former CEO of Amazon Web Services, and focuses on building hyperscale data centers to address power and capacity constraints. By distributing the investment across six subsidiaries, Samsung aims to capture downstream contracts beyond financial returns. As the world’s largest memory chip manufacturer, Samsung has a direct interest in expanding data center infrastructure, which drives demand for its high-bandwidth memory and other components.
