Samsung Electronics is expected to report third-quarter 2026 operating profit of around 106.1 trillion won, nearly nine times the 12.17 trillion won posted a year earlier, driven by demand for high-bandwidth memory chips used in artificial intelligence. The chip division is forecast to post operating margins of 72-76%, with consensus revenue at 199-202 trillion won. Samsung would become the first South Korean company to surpass 100 trillion won in quarterly operating profit. Its HBM market share rose from 21% in Q1 to 33% in Q2 2026, while HBM4 sales are expected to triple sequentially. Analyst forecasts have been cut by 7.7-8% since late August due to the stronger South Korean won and moderating memory chip price increases.
