Keonne Rodriguez, co-founder of Samourai Wallet, faces another prison transfer after the drug treatment program at FCI McKean was deactivated. Rodriguez and approximately 70 other inmates will be moved to facilities where the treatment remains available, as completing the program could reduce his sentence by up to a year. He is serving a five-year sentence for conspiring to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business, with more than $237 million in criminal proceeds transmitted through the service according to the Justice Department. His previous transfer from FPC Morgantown to McKean took 30 days, during which he was shackled at the ankles and wrists before being transported by bus and plane to the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. Congressional efforts to protect non-controlling cryptocurrency developers failed as the CLARITY Act did not secure the 60 votes needed in the Senate on September 15.
