President Putin has signed a law regulating cryptocurrencies in Russia. Exchange platforms will only be allowed to operate if they are registered, and retail investors will be limited to 300,000 rubles ($3,700) per year. The ban on using cryptocurrencies as a payment method remains in place since 2022. However, citizens can still use digital currencies to settle foreign trade contracts between residents and non-residents, as well as for mining activities.
