The Government Accountability Office published a report revealing that DOGE’s claims of $110 billion in savings had transparency and reliability issues. Out of 13,476 contracts DOGE claimed to have terminated, no termination action was taken on 2,503 of them. DOGE reported $113 million in savings from 264 leases, but the GAO found actual savings amounted to $53.5 million. Approximately 108 of those leases were already in the termination process before DOGE was formed. The GAO recommends that DOGE’s website clearly warn readers about data quality issues and limitations of its information.
