Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for investment, said on October 16, 2026 at Russian Energy Week in Moscow that Russia and the US could discuss joint data center projects running on power from Russian nuclear plants, including small-scale reactors. Dmitriev stated that a concrete list of projects had already been drawn up with several Russian companies involved, but discussions remain preliminary and no definitive agreement has been signed.
