RoboStore, the leading North American distributor of Unitree robots, has announced its conversion into a US manufacturer after the FCC banned imports of advanced foreign-made robots on July 29, 2026. The company, which supplied Harvard, MIT, Amazon, and Nvidia, has created a new entity called Robo Inc. and plans to open a 66,000-square-foot facility in Plainview, New York, with the goal of being fully operational by Q1 2027. This ban follows national security concerns raised by the Pentagon, which established alleged ties between Unitree and the Chinese military. RoboStore served over 4,500 customers and deployed approximately 1,500 active robots across North America.
