Robinhood has purchased $25 million worth of Bitcoin for its corporate balance sheet, marking its first proprietary BTC holdings separate from customer assets. This allocation remains modest compared to the company’s roughly $100 billion market capitalization, but Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crypto and International at Robinhood, confirmed that the purchase is primarily intended to signal alignment with the Bitcoin ecosystem. Robinhood has expanded its crypto services well beyond simple spot trading, including dedicated products, international services, and blockchain infrastructure. This acquisition positions Robinhood among publicly traded companies that hold BTC at the corporate level, alongside firms like MicroStrategy or Tesla, although the company takes a more symbolic than transformative approach.
