Robinhood’s Layer-2 blockchain holds approximately $603 million in total value locked, nearly 10 times less than Base’s $5.53 billion. On July 21, however, Robinhood Chain briefly surpassed Base in daily active users with around 324,000 wallets compared to Base’s 275,000, just weeks after its July 1 launch. Early trading volumes exceeded $500 million on multiple days, but memecoins dominated activity, with real-world assets accounting for only 4% of total volume. Unlike most Layer-2 networks, Robinhood Chain has no native token and uses ETH for gas fees, with its economic value intended to flow back to shareholders of HOOD, the publicly traded parent company.
