Neobank Revolut has obtained a full banking license in France for its subsidiary Revolut Bank S.A. This license marks a historic step in the company’s European growth strategy, which now operates two distinct entities: Revolut Bank S.A. in France and Revolut Bank UAB in Lithuania, the latter continuing to operate in the rest of the European Economic Area. The French subsidiary will begin serving customers in France before progressively taking over clients from other European countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland. The stated goal is to establish Revolut among the largest retail banks on the continent, with over 30 million local customers, including nearly 8 million who joined the platform over the past year. Both entities will be supervised by their respective national authorities as well as the European Central Bank.
