While Wall Street dumps debt-heavy AI infrastructure names, private investors are pouring billions into three specialized AI startups. Etched, which builds chips for AI inference, raised $300 million in July 2026 at a $10.3 billion valuation, then another $700 million a month later at $21 billion, with over $1 billion in customer orders. Unconventional AI, focused on energy efficiency in computing, closed a $475 million seed round at a $4.5 billion valuation in December 2025. Legora, an AI platform for the legal sector founded in 2023, secured $600 million at a $5.55 to $5.6 billion valuation in spring 2026, serving over 1,000 customers and reaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue within 18 months.
