Premier League allows live audio of player-referee conversations during broadcasts

Starting with the 2025/26 season, the Premier League will broadcast live audio from player-referee conversations through its referee head-mounted camera system. This initiative, first trialled during a Crystal Palace vs Manchester United match in May 2024, will be rolled out by broadcasters Sky Sports and TNT Sports. According to a survey, 80 % of fans support this transparency measure. The Premier League, the most-watched domestic football league in the world, could set a benchmark that other competitions will either follow or be pressured to match.
