Paolo Ardoino wants AI agents to hold Tether, but developers are left on the hook for overspending

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, presents his vision of financially autonomous AI agents. The WDK CLI, a command-line wallet interface, opens a timed session of five minutes by default without requiring separate approval for each payment. On macOS and Linux, any process running as the wallet owner can reach the local socket of the unlocked wallet to request a signature. The SDK offers configurable ALLOW and DENY rules before operations execute, but does not automatically maintain recipient lists or cumulative spending counters. Developers who want a budget ceiling must therefore implement their own accounting at the application level, because checking each individual transaction does not establish how much an agent has already spent.
