OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar told employees during an all-hands meeting that the artificial intelligence lab would be a public company in 2027, or sooner if its business continues to grow. OpenAI raised 122 billion dollars in March and confidentially filed its IPO prospectus with the SEC in June. The company, valued at 852 billion dollars, faces pressure to justify this valuation ahead of its stock market debut. OpenAI’s revenue run rate is up 35 percent this quarter, with enterprise revenue run rate up 50 percent. Its AI coding and work product has reached 20 million weekly active users.
